Medical Policy
At Diabetes Network of Arizona programs and events, including Family Camp, the health and safety of participants is a top priority.
A team of trained medical professionals, including a medical director, may be available onsite to provide support related to diabetes care and emergency medical situations. However, the primary responsibility for managing diabetes care remains with the individual participant or their designated caregiver.
Participants and caregivers are responsible for routine diabetes management, including insulin administration, blood glucose monitoring, and treatment of low or high blood sugar levels.
In the event that medical staff intervention becomes necessary, appropriate consent and documentation will be required prior to treatment whenever possible. This ensures that care is provided in the best interest of the participant while respecting individual care plans and family preferences.
Diabetes Network of Arizona aims to support families with education, guidance, and assistance while empowering them to confidently manage diabetes in a camp or
event setting.
