From family camps and youth meetups to community fundraisers and educational gatherings, each experience is thoughtfully created to foster belonging, empowerment, and lifelong connections.

Our events and programs are led by individuals with lived experience and professional expertise in the type 1 diabetes community. Their passion, leadership, and dedication help create meaningful opportunities for connection, education, and support across Arizona.
Vice President & Special Events Director

Becky has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 33 years and is a licensed master social worker. She brings both professional expertise and lived experience to creating meaningful events for Arizona families.
Camp Director
Zach Meeker-Hackett

Zach has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 20 years and has been part of diabetes camp since 2005. He is passionate about building inclusive camp experiences that foster confidence and connection.
Youth Connect Events Director
Isabella Small

Isabella founded T1D Youth Connect in 2023 and is a student at Arizona State University. She creates welcoming events that help youth impacted by type 1 diabetes feel connected and supported.

Camp Reunion 2026
Reconnect. Remember. Celebrate community.
Camp Reunion brings campers, families, volunteers, and staff back together for a day of connection, reflection, and fun. This special event gives our diabetes community the chance to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new families, and celebrate the lifelong bonds formed through camp.
Whether you’re a former camper, a parent, or a longtime supporter, Camp Reunion is a meaningful opportunity to come together, share stories, and continue building a strong support network beyond camp.

Family Camp 2026
Connect. Learn. Grow together.
Throughout the weekend, families participate in community activities, practical learning sessions, and time to build lasting relationships. Family Camp is designed to strengthen confidence, foster understanding, and remind families they are never alone.
Family Camp is a weekend retreat for individuals and families living with type 1 diabetes. This inclusive experience brings families together for education, connection, and meaningful shared moments in a supportive outdoor setting.

FWD Youth Camp 2026
Where confidence and community grow.
Throughout the week, campers enjoy classic camp activities, hands on learning, and meaningful moments that build confidence both on and off the mountain. Youth Camp is designed to create lasting friendships, strengthen diabetes management skills, and remind every camper that they are capable, supported, and never alone.
Youth Camp is an unforgettable summer experience for children and teens living with type 1 diabetes. This fun and supportive camp environment gives campers the chance to build independence, learn new skills, and connect with others who truly understand what it is like to live with diabetes every day.

Betting on a Cure 2025 Recap
Celebrate the impact, remember the community.
Betting on a Cure is one of Diabetes Network of Arizona’s signature fundraising events. In 2025, supporters, families, and community partners came together to raise critical funds to support programs, education, and outreach for individuals and families impacted by type 1 diabetes.
The 2025 event was full of connection, purpose, and generosity. Together, we celebrated community spirit, shared stories of resilience, and increased support so we can continue expanding opportunities for education and community connection throughout Arizona.
